Persecution During the Holocaust: Cahill and Burns

Burns/Ziomek Final

Research project:

For the end of the year project we will focus on learning research skills. You will be examining the experiences of the other groups targeted by the Nazis and how their experiences compared to those of European Jews.  Through this process, you will learn not only about this history but also how to go about searching for articles in library databases, reading for keywords, taking notes, citing database sources and a creating a works cited.

Non-Jewish victim groups from the Holocaust include:

  • Poles
  • Homosexuals
  • Roma & Sinti
  • Handicapped
  • Jehovah's Witnesses

No matter which group you are assigned, you will work to answer the following questions in your paper: What happened to the ____________ during the Holocaust?  How was their experience similar to and different from the Jewish experience?

To Cite in Noodletools:

  1. Choose New Source --> Website --> Web Page
  2. Fill in as many of the fields as you can; look at the beginning of the article and at the bottom of the article - citation info  is sometimes found there. if the information is not available, you may leave the field blank.  The name of the site is either "Facing History and Ourselves" or 'United States Holocaust Memorial Museum". Many articles do not give an author name so you can leave that blank if it is not there.
  3. Don't forget to Save (top right of citation page) your citation!
