2. Erik Erikson
3. Howard Gardner
4. Lev Vygotsky
5. Lawrence Kohlberg
6. Albert Bandura
7. Mary Ainsworth
8. B.F. Skinner
a) Provide a correctly formatted bibliography with a minimum of four authoritative written sources.
b) All images/illustrations/videos taken from the web must also be cited. At least 5 images and one video clip (less than 5 min.)
c) Your bibliography should be typed and documented at the end of your presentation (do not just provide a NoodleTools link-- export your information to keep it properly formatted.
Questions to answer:
1) What is the person’s/theorist’s name and dates of life?
2) Where was (s)he born?
3) Where did (s)he live?
4) Give biographical information about this person’s life... family, work, publications, schooling, awards?
5) What is the name of the theory/philosophy?
6) Is there a particular name/category for this theory/philosophy? (e.g. Maturational, Developmental, Cognitive, Social, Psychosocial, Behavioral, Attachment, etc.)
7) How did this person connect with theory/philosophy? (How was it created/discovered? Why was it created/discovered? What was (s)he interested in that led to its discovery?)
8) Describe the theory/philosophy in detail…stages, definitions, examples, defining materials, etc.
*9) As caregivers/teachers of young children, how and why is this person/theory important to our work? Consider the following questions in order to answer this...
Can we look around today and see this theory somewhere in our teaching/environment?
How did this person/theory impact educational practices today (the materials, strategies, environment, etc.)?
In other words, what significant contributions from this theory have influenced how we work with children today?
How has the person/theory impacted society, influenced other programs, improved the quality of life for children & families, etc.?
10) If your theory/philosophy encompasses the lifespan (birth-death), document the full theory while focusing on the early childhood portion with more detail related to questions #8 and #9.
